Rehabilitation and construction in Silves
Silves has the oldest building stock in this part of the Algarve, with stone masonry and rammed-earth construction that calls for structural rehabilitation rather than straightforward renovation. The municipality runs from the interior down to the coast, including Armação de Pêra. VRconstroi has a completed villa in the municipality, and licensing is handled by Câmara Municipal de Silves.
Silves is the municipality of our head office and the one where we are closest to every site. Here we built a contemporary villa from the ground up in cubic volumes, on a sloping plot resolved with a lower floor. The interior of the municipality, from Algoz to São Bartolomeu de Messines, is orange groves and rural land, where it pays to confirm what the Silves PDM allows before buying; in the town of Silves itself, the historic centre calls for careful rehabilitation.
