We have two completed villas in Carvoeiro: one on a hillside, built in terraces down to the pool with a solid stone spiral staircase, and one where we built tiled terraces, stone walls and a pergola over the dining area. That is the kind of work Carvoeiro asks for, from Vale do Rei to the clifftops by the beach: houses on sloping plots, where the outdoor work weighs as much as the indoor.
