Construction in Faro and along the Ria Formosa
Faro is the district capital and presents two distinct building situations: a historic centre where older buildings carry heritage constraints, and an outskirts where there is room to build from scratch. Proximity to the Ria Formosa adds environmental constraints across part of the municipality. Licensing is handled by Câmara Municipal de Faro.
Faro sits at the eastern end of the area we work in, so every job here is planned with the travel logistics in mind. In the city the usual requests are the rehabilitation of older buildings and apartment renovations; on the outskirts, towards São Brás de Alportel and Olhão, there are villas with land where people build from scratch or add a pool. Near the Ria Formosa the ground is low-lying, and damp is a factor in any job in Faro.

Yes, the process is more demanding. Work on buildings in the historic centre of Faro carries heritage constraints that limit changes to facades, materials and massing, and this is assessed within the Câmara Municipal de Faro application.
VRconstroi carries out rehabilitation of older buildings, apartment and villa renovation, and new construction in the outer parts of the Faro municipality, including Montenegro, Estoi and Santa Bárbara de Nexe.
